Pin Point Recruitment is working with a leading business in the chemical sector to recruit a Transport Supervisor / Assistant Transport Manager to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a CPC-qualified Transport professional with strong ADR knowledge to play a key role in managing daily transport operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The role is well-suited to an experienced Transport Supervisor looking to progress into management or an existing Assistant Manager seeking a new challenge.

TRANSPORT SUPERVISOR / ASSISTANT TRANSPORT MANAGER SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Transport Manager CPC – Essential
· Proven experience as a Transport Supervisor or Assistant Transport Manager
· Strong people management skills with experience managing driver workforces
· Excellent knowledge of compliance, legislation, and transport systems
· ADR knowledge/experience – Preferred
· Tanker transport experience – Preferred
· A proactive, hands-on leadership style with excellent organisational skills

Responsibilities

TRANSPORT SUPERVISOR / ASSISTANT TRANSPORT MANAGER ROLE

As Transport Supervisor / Assistant Transport Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of transport operations, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in full compliance with regulations. You will act as the main point of contact for drivers, planners, customers, and subcontractors, while helping to optimise the performance of both the company fleet and subcontracted services.

TRANSPORT SUPERVISOR / ASSISTANT TRANSPORT MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Act as the primary point of contact for daily transport operations and customer service queries.
· Supervise and support drivers, monitoring fleet performance using Microlise and addressing any issues.
· Oversee subcontractor performance and escalate concerns to relevant providers.
· Ensure compliance with all legislation, including WTD, tachograph regulations, and Operator’s Licence obligations.
· Maintain vehicle maintenance records with a full auditable trail in line with statutory requirements.
· Authorise driver pay and contractor costs.
· Produce accurate delivery plans for operational, pay, and cost purposes.
· Provide operational reports, KPIs, and weekly performance updates to management.
· Ensure effective use of the Fuel Management system.
· Lead and document incident investigations, escalating where disciplinary action may be required.
· Support night loading operations and ensure accurate loader sheets are in place.
· Work with planners to ensure routes and vehicle allocation are cost-effective and efficient.
· Ensure compliance paperwork is filed accurately and on time.
· Lead by example with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
