What does the job look like?
The Transport Supervisor is tasked with efficiently implementing the daily night load plan for bulk and route deliveries, aiming to minimise costs and enhance equipment utilisation across the Melbourne metropolitan area. Specifically tailored to the Customer Mentone Operation, this position entails collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including BevChain drivers, subcontractors, and the tier one beverage customer to ensure utmost customer satisfaction. The goal is to optimise all delivery opportunities and establish processes with dispatch/receiving facilities to uphold high levels of on-time performance and continuous improvement.

This is an exciting permanent opportunity, operating on the Night shift, Monday – Friday, commencing from 9pm – 5am. Given the nature of this 24/7 operation, flexibility in working hours is anticipated, and availability during peak periods is required. Key areas:

• Effectively allocate and schedule drivers/subcontractors predominately to distribution centres and to achieve daily workloads promptly and cost-effectively
• Supervise subcontractors and fleet requirements to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of daily workloads
• Manage all transport documentation, including load weight/time, constraints, PODs, driver run sheets, transfers, RDOs
• Maintain close communication and regularly update the on-site customer to ensure seamless execution
• Ensure all KPI reports are precise and accurate, ensuring their alignment with customer expectations
• Maintain and foster a cooperative relationship among operational, transport, and administrative staff within both BevChain and the customer
• Review and coordinate next day loads for the drivers to commence the following day
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance by actively participating in risk management, audits, work site visits, SWATs, and engaging in discussions with site personnel

Are you the one?

We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Transport Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment. You’ll bring a customer-first mindset, excellent people skills, and a strong background in transport operations. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in driver allocation, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding time management abilities. Previous experience in transport and/or warehouse operations (FMCG or retail is an advantage)

• Demonstrated experience as a Transport Allocator/Scheduler in a busy logistics environment
• In-depth understanding of load configurations, weights, and truck trailer type allocation
• Proficiency in MS Suite and utilising a TMS and WMS
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Good knowledge of compliance requirements (CoR, OH&S, fatigue, mass limits).
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• A relevant qualification in logistics, business, or supply chain (Cert IV or above desirable).
