KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong working knowledge of transport management systems
  • Knowledge of logistics processes and operational workflows
  • Proven experience delivering IT systems training in a transport or logistics environment
  • Experience with new system roll outs and change management is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both face-to-face and virtual
  • Ability to simplify complex information into accessible training content
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and digital learning tools (e.g. MS Teams, LMS platforms, video recording software)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage training effectively across multiple sites with varying needs
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to different operational locations
  • Train the Trainer certification is desirable but will be provided
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a Transport Systems Trainer to be responsible for the operational use of our transport management system and other transport-related systems across our large, multi-site transport and logistics operation. This role is critical in ensuring our operational staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge to use key systems effectively, enhancing productivity, compliance, and service delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs for internal transport/logistics systems
  • Conduct training sessions in 121 and small group settings with operational staff across multiple depots/sites, in person, virtually ands via e-learning platforms
  • Create and maintain high-quality training materials, user guides, and video tutorials tailored to various user levels
  • Identify anomalies in systems use and apply supportive actions to correct
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations and HR to align training with system updates, business goals and employee development plans
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, testing, and on-the-job performance support
  • Provide on-site support for new system implementations or updates
  • Act as a subject matter expert for transport systems, maintaining up-to-date knowledge on system changes and best practices
  • Track and report on training attendance, engagement and completion metrics
