Reporting to the Unit Duty Manager, The Team Leader Transport will support the Duty Manager in managing the daily operation, taking ownership and accountability for meeting operational objectives and targets while acting as a role model for gategroup company values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
  • Educated to HND preferred and/or relevant work experience-based qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE TEAM LEADER:

  • Valid clean HGV CAT C Driving Licence (up to 3 points will be considered)
  • Digital Tachograph knowledge and possession of a digital tachograph card
  • Driver CPC qualification essential
  • Previous HGV experience desirable, Airport Airside Driving would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Road Traffic Ac

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous supervisory experience of managing a busy, dynamic unit in a production/manufacturing or food environment
  • Knowledge of Food hygiene, security, H&S preferred
  • Proven track record of taking accountability in their work environment for decisions, projects and activities
  • Demonstrable evidence of understanding and implementing continuous improvement activities
  • Proven track record with managing difficult situations and clients.
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for all aspects of the business of the unit
  • Assign teams and vehicles to flight activity (allocation) and maintain contact with teams via phone to manage their movements and completion of flights servicing against the daily plan and to events on the airport.
  • Prioritise and adjust activities accordingly to ensure the on time serving of all flights.
  • Plan the teams (air side food uplifts) and the flights where coverage required.
  • Carry out a handover to the daytime (bond) team leader with relevant information.
  • Performance monitor team members daily and escalate concerns to Duty Manager.
  • Plan and manage the team’s output to ensure delivery of business, section and customer targets.
  • Ensure shift briefings, capture of key information and display / report relevant KPI’s.
  • Attend/conduct daily operational meetings/briefings. Present accurate information & data as reqd.
  • Resolve conflict/provide solutions by exercising high levels of influencing, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to cover a 7-day operation.
