Description

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in repairing and maintaining trailers and heavy equipment. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Trailer Mechanic will ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and safely for optimal performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Certified in Alberta to perform CVIP’s for trailers
  • Proven mechanic experience, preferably in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in transport trailer inspections, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for the job duties.
  • Ability to work independently, sole mechanic on duty
  • Follow company planned maintenance program.
  • Forklift maintenance experience an asset, but not required.
  • Collaborating with team members.
  • Complete a criminal record check prior to employment to register with Alberta Transportation.

    Pay: From $36.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, including inspections and diagnostics for a fleet of 60 + dry vans.
  • Experience related to electrical trailer systems, braking systems, shocks, landing gear, suspensions and frames.
  • Minor semi-truck repairs, oil changes and servicing shop equipment.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs.
  • Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Assist in the assembly of components as required for repair.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
