Job Description The Transportation Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials, intermediates, and finished life science products across the global supply chain. This role supports day-to-day logistics operations, analyzes transportation performance, and helps maintain the integrity of sensitive and regulated materials during shipment. Key Responsibilities Transportation Operations & Execution Review domestic and international shipments of raw materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring compliance with life-science-related regulations (e.g., GDP, DOT, IATA, FDA). Monitor Global transportation activities to ensure on-time delivery; proactively troubleshoot delays, exceptions, and temperature-excursion risks. Support cold-chain and controlled-environment logistics by validating carrier adherence to handling requirements, packaging standards, and temperature-monitoring processes. Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement Track and analyze transportation KPIs—on-time delivery, carrier utilization, freight cost, lane performance, temperature excursion rates, etc. Identify cost-saving, service-improving, and risk-mitigating opportunities through data analysis and benchmarking. Develop reports and dashboards for supply chain leaders; communicate trends and actionable insights. Support carrier scorecards, quarterly business reviews, and corrective action plans. Carrier & Vendor Management Assist in selecting, onboarding, and managing logistics providers, freight forwarders, and parcel/LTL/FTL carriers. Audit carrier invoices, validate freight rates, monitor assessorial charges and support resolution of billing discrepancies. Partner with carriers to understand capacity constraints, negotiate spot quotes, and maintain service-level agreements. Compliance & Quality Support Ensure transportation processes align with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements applicable to life science products. Participate in audits, CAPA implementation, and documentation updates related to transportation operations. Support risk assessments for new shipping lanes, packaging solutions, and transportation modes. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field. 2–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations Strong understanding of parcel and LTL carrier invoicing. Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel, ERP, TMS, or BI tools. Understanding of GDP/GMP logistics, temperature-controlled shipping, and global trade fundamentals. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work cross-functionally in a highly regulated environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SAP, IFS, or similar ERP platforms. 2–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations—within pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, or life science manufacturing. Knowledge of customs compliance, dangerous goods regulations, or cold-chain packaging technologies. Lean/Six Sigma exposure. Familiarity with KPI dashboarding tools (Tableau, Power BI). Additional Information Pay range for this position is: Minimum pay rate: $72,000 USD Maximum pay rate: $97,000 USD The salary range provided covers the minimum and maximum amounts projected for this role.
