Description Transportation Assistant Coordinator(Contract Position for Formula 1: October 13th - October 21st) Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. Opening Summer of 2025, COTA’s amusement park is a 20-acre theme park featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and over three dozen rides. Job Description: The Transportation assistant coordinator supports the planning and execution of transportation operations for events at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). This role provides critical administrative and on-site support to ensure smooth parking, traffic flow, and shuttle services during a wide range of events including motorsport races, concerts, festivals, and private rentals. Working closely with the Lead Transportation Coordinator and other team members, the Transportation Assistant Coordinator helps organize logistics, coordinate resources, and provide hands-on assistance during event operations. ***This is an on-site, temporary contract position for Formula 1. The dates of employment are October 13th – October 21st*** Requirements Requirements & Essential Functions: Assist in coordinating parking and transportation plans for events, including signage, staffing, and lot organization. Support the Transportation Team in securing off-site parking locations and preparing logistics for major events. Help maintain inventory and records of transportation vehicles, equipment, and supplies. Assist with scheduling and communication for shuttle drivers, parking attendants, and contracted staff. Provide administrative support including preparing training materials, compiling credential examples, and updating documentation. Support pre- and post-event inspections of parking areas and transportation equipment. Assist with on-site guest services such as ADA transportation support during events. Serve as a point of communication for vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders as directed. Provide hands-on support during events to ensure transportation and traffic plans are executed smoothly. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams. Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); ability to learn event-specific systems. Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities. Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to step in and assist wherever needed. Problem-solving mindset and flexibility to adapt during live event operations. Required Qualifications: Associate degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Previous experience in event operations, guest services, or administrative support preferred. Strong interest in transportation logistics, event planning, or related fields. Physical Demand & Work Environments: Ability to stand, sit, use hands, and reach with arms as required. Must be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds. Ability to work extended hours during events, including evenings, weekends, and in outdoor weather conditions. Work environment varies from office settings to outdoor event areas; noise levels may be high during events.
