SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Transportation Director, the Transportation Behavior Coach supports the implementation of the student’s behavior intervention program by assisting with behavior support and behavior management and supervision support. The Transportation Behavior Coach has the primary responsibility of assisting students, bus drivers and schools with behavioral needs of students while riding on the bus.

DESCRIPTION

Applications must be submitted no later than Wednesday, August 13, 2025.5.9 hours per day/Table 9-Pay Grade 5-$18.66 per hour (2025-2026 Support Salary Table)ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Participate in weekly staffing meetings to consider new referrals and report on progress with current students.• Administer screening protocols to students and interpret data to identify the appropriate skills to be taught.• Develop and teach social skills targeted toward individual student needs.• Track intervention data to provide important feedback and incentives to students on targeted behaviors, and to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions.• Build rapport with students, bus drivers, bus assistants, schools, and parents as needed and serve as a mentor to teach and train them on the necessary skills to manage the students’ bus rides.• Act as a liaison between schools and the Transportation Department by communicating regularly with administration and teachers to report on progress.• Work with a reasonable caseload of students to mentor and supervise.• Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Department administration.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.• Experience working with school-aged students.• Safety Care Training (to be provided after being hired).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:• Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with variety of students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel.• Must have ability to problem solve and to implement variety of behavioral programs.• Knowledge of appropriate instructional practices.• Ability to operate a computer and generate reports to track data on student progress.• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
