Description Ready for a dynamic role? Join us as a Truck driver and Dispatcher. The Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of the utilization of commodity drivers and trucks to maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers. This individual will work closely with the Fleet Manager, and operations personnel to help coordinate scheduling, manage communication, and dispatching of drivers to meet customer expectations. Responsible for managing a group of 35 drivers with the dual goals of maintaining a high level of on-time customer loading and delivery, overall customer service and supporting driver needs while directing their work. Essential Job Responsibilities for dispatcher include: Directing drivers at shift change Planning predetermined routes and accommodating route changes as needed Communicating via email and calls with potato plants and other customers Routinely follow up with Plant Management to ensure weekly needs are met Routinely follow up with Yard Management to ensure product flow is on schedule and needs are met Communicating with drivers on schedules and loads Communicating with the shop on repairs and maintenance schedules Making changes based on changes at the plant, equipment breakdowns or employee issues Promptly handling calls and requests from drivers, management, and customers throughout duration of shift Assist the Fleet manager with outside sales and hauling needs Team player, attention to detail and very organized is a must for this position Requirements Class A CDL At least 2 years’ experience A valid medical card. Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills. Proficiently work in Excel workbook, Google Docs, Word Doc, and willingness to learn Transportation Software. Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance, including arriving on time and working scheduled shifts as assigned. On-call availability will be required in this position. 2-3 years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry Ability to monitor drivers' logs, truck maintenance schedules, and repairs. Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Northwest Beef Express offers a competitive salary and bonus program.
