ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Receives product delivery orders from internal and external contacts, collaborating with storage facilities, transport companies, and sales personnel to effectively coordinate transportation activities in adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Arranges schedules and dispatches suitable transport vehicles for product loading at designated locations. Engages in regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of delivery requirements.
- Receives, inputs, and maintains computerized information and records, such as load status, 3PL orders, and on-time arrival statistics, in compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures. Performs timely review and approval of invoices for payment to external stakeholders.
- Coordinates after-hours shipping and receiving schedules and diligently track deliveries to ensure successful completion. Proactively communicates with stakeholders to keep them informed of potential problems or delays.
- Investigates and resolves transportation-related issues in a timely manner, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. Escalates complex problems to the appropriate department or individual for swift resolution.
- Generates accurate and timely reports as required, adhering to established policies and procedures to provide relevant insights and information.
- Contributes to fostering a customer-focused, cooperative, and team-oriented culture that aligns with the company’s core values.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the standards, procedures, and regulations in the transportation industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication (written & verbal) and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and forge strong relationships within the category team and all other stakeholders.
- Strong organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple demands in a timely manner without compromising the quality or accuracy of work.
- Self-motivated with high standards and attention to detail; ability to set priorities and work accurately within tight deadlines in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Ability in exercising good judgement while maintaining confidentiality; demonstrates a high level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement, optimizing workflow efficiency, and achieving team objectives within the organization.
- Positive and engaging attitude, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and fun working environment.
- Ability to be available for on-call support and/or weekends as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree, diploma in business with a focus on supply chain management is an asset.
- Minimum, 2-years’ related experience in transportation, logistics, and/or supply chain; previous experience in the transportation of fresh produce and/or perishable products is an asset.
