GENERAL SUMMARY The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the transportation plan in a multi-temperature foodservice distribution warehouse to meet customer requirements in regard to service, cost, driver performance and other established metrics. This is a hands-on role that requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. 1. Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, including pickups, deliveries, and shipments. 2. Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods. 3. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper loading and unloading of goods. 4. Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time delivery and update relevant parties as needed. 5. Resolve any transportation-related issues or delays in a timely manner. 6. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and requirements. 7. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization. 8. Perform other duties as assigned.
