Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the scheduling, coordination, and tracking of all transportation activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. This position requires strong communication skills, an understanding of supply chain operations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain transportation schedules, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products while optimizing routes and minimizing costs.
  • Vendor and Carrier Management: Communicate and coordinate with transportation providers (carriers, freight forwarders, etc.) to schedule shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
  • Tracking and Monitoring Shipments: Track the status of all shipments, provide updates to internal teams and customers, and address any delays or issues that arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, such as bills of lading, shipping manifests, and delivery receipts. Generate reports on transportation costs, delays, and other performance metrics.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve any transportation-related inquiries, issues, or concerns.
  • Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with warehouse teams to coordinate the timely movement of goods in and out of the facility.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations, industry best practices, and supply chain processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
