POSITION SUMMARY The Transportation Design Lead is ideally a professional with 15+ years of increasing responsibility managing people, building teams and a transportation practice. This role is primarily leadership and management of people along with business development in support of generating long-term transportation projects. This individual will provide client management, project management, and quality management of transportation engineering services on all phases of multiple assigned projects in support of the Department Manager. They will also be responsible for internal team growth and development, supporting the individual’s professional development to meet the needs of the team; encouraging industry participation, volunteerism. Office Location: Cherry Hill, NJ PRIMARY DUTIES * Plan, develop, and manage infrastructure & transportation engineering projects for Agency clients  * Support the Department Manager in job planning and coordination of multiple technical disciplines. * Perform analysis of existing conditions and provide oversight to technical staff and clients representative engineer/project manager. * Develop job plans and monitor schedules and budgets. * Maintain strong technical knowledge of design techniques, procedures, regulations, materials and specifications. * Perform independent, complex engineering calculations and develop construction plans. * Ensure client and corporate quality control procedures are followed throughout a project. * Coordinate with a team in order to prepare technical reports and construction drawings. * Responsible for quality assurance and quality control on all projects across TDS * Assist with new business development activities, including proposal preparation and participation in sales presentations. * Lead competitive proposal pursuits in coordination with marketing group * Interact with clients and oversee subconsultants. * Review of monthly project invoices prior to submission to clients. * Provide technical direction and mentor engineering team. * Perform site visits during construction phase for client support.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES * Proven leadership track record * Experience in the Management of Heavy Transportation projects. * Experience on NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, PennDOT, PTC and City of Philadelphia projects preferred. * Knowledge of various DEP & stormwater regulations * Excellent communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. * Strong knowledge of NJDOT, PennDOT, AASHTO bridge design manuals and procedures   EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university * Masters Degree in any related field from an accredited university   CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED * Professional Engineer (PE) License Required, New Jersey or Pennsylvania with the ability for multiple reciprocal states * Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred    SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: *  Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring staff required.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions. This range represents a good faith estimate and is based on factors such as the role, level, and geographic location. The range shown reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including skills, experience, education, and training.
