About Us The Center at Park West is a skilled nursing facility that serves patients needing physical rehabilitation and/or complex nursing care. Our highly qualified, caring staff provides care in a beautiful, hotel-like atmosphere to help our patients achieve strength and functionality. Job Description: The Transport Driver is responsible for safely transporting facility residents to and from appointments, providing quality customer service and helping to set the tone for the level of care residents will receive at The Center. We are looking for a PRN van driver to have a flexible day to day schedule with weekend availability to assist our full time van driver in overlapping appointments. Ideally this position doesn't have a set schedule, so if this is something that may work with your work/life balance please apply! Job Duties and Responsibilities Transport Driver Reviews patient information prior to appointment in order to determine patient needs. Verifies all information with nursing staff as necessary. Implements customer-service standards, resolves problems, and determines & completes patient transportation system improvements. Transport Driver Stays with patient at appointments to provide assistance upon request. Enters orders for appointments and transportation and retrieves/sends diagnostic labs needed for appointment. Determines best route to and from appointments prior to the departing time, along with equipment required to load and unload patient. Transport Driver Keeps equipment operating by establishing and enforcing operating and preventative maintenance rules; arranges for repairs, oil changes, etc. Provides and troubleshoots medical equipment needed for patient transport, including but not limited to oxygen, wheelchairs, gurneys, and IVs. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations. Transport new admissions and occasional discharges. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED Experience and Specific Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as well as a clean driving record. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and crouch repetitively. Must be able to push a minimum of 200 pounds for a long distance. Must be able to lift bulky heavy items up to 100 pounds. Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
The Transport Driver is responsible for safely transporting facility residents to and from appointments while providing quality customer service. They also assist patients during appointments and ensure the proper functioning of transportation equipment.
