Reporting to the Program Manager, Transportation, the Transportation Electrical Co-Op Student is primarily responsible for designing and drafting streetlighting and traffic signals infrastructure. This role is open to students for 8, 12, or 16-month term starting in September 2025.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of at least one year of an engineering program at an accredited university or college (electrical or civil preferred)
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Familiarization with AGI32 and IES/TAC lighting standards would be an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design of Streetlighting and Traffic Signal infrastructure for land development, municipal, and provincial projects in a variety of jurisdictions.
  • Learn to interpret and apply relevant Streetlighting and Traffic Signal standards across multiple municipalities.
  • Drafting streetlighting and traffic signal drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Review 3rd party drawings such as civil, architectural, landscape, and on-site electrical to coordinate and eliminate design conflicts.
  • Conduct Field Reviews of new installations.
  • Review as-built markups to ensure substantial compliance with the original design and completing Record Drawings.
  • Create various tools to standardize and streamline processes for the team within Excel.
  • Other duties as required by senior engineering staff, including contract administration.
