Transportation Engineer 1 (TE1), District Traffic, PN 20056307
Transportation Engineer 1 hire will complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program to include a 12 month training plan & scheduled rotation through the department’s core engineering disciplines; Planning & Engineering, Construction and Highway Maintenance.
What You Will Do:
You will receive a thorough introduction to the three core civil engineering disciplines.
You will work along side of ODOT professional engineers.
You will receive hands-on transportation training & experience needed to further your career as an engineer with ODOT.
This position will be responsible for essential aspects of land use and infrastructure development, encompassing right-of-way permitting and utilization of ODOT’s Access Management system for access permits and lot splits.
Review of developer roadway improvement and drainage plans for compliance with ODOT specifications and Traffic Impact Study Requirements.
Inspect permitted projects periodically to ensure they are following ODOT’s standards. Additionally, this individual will assist our highway traffic signal and sign maintenance staff, contributing to the safe and efficient flow of our transportation network

Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
