Your Opportunity We have an opportunity for Transportation Engineer-in-Training to join our team in the Cincinnati, Ohio office. This role will focus on supporting design projects related to transportation infrastructure. The successful candidate will perform engineering work under close supervision requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out related civil engineering tasks such as preparation of plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates in accordance with established codes and standards. We thrive on collaboration with cross-functional teams and a client-focused environment across a broad range of project sectors. * Under the direction of lead engineer, assist with the preparation of construction plans, estimates, and other deliverables for transportation projects. * Prepare project designs and deliverables in compliance with documented commitments, standards, and quality assurance practices. * Work within design team while cognizant of project scopes, schedules, budgets. * Follow all in-house procedures related to documentation of designs and process flow. * Attend and document project/client meetings with agenda and/or notes/minutes. * Use knowledge of general concepts of engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to support engineering projects that focus on transportation systems such as such as highways, streets, bridges, tunnels, drainage structures, roadway lighting, airports, railroads, and commuter trains. * Assist team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions. * Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices. * Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer. * Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications. * Perform field work related to construction activities as required. * Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
