Responsibilities

Choose your own adventure! Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As a Transportation Engineer, your role will include:

  • Working with an established, multi-disciplinary, integrated technical team of engineers, technologists, and support staff to build innovative transportation solutions for our clients.
  • Assisting with the production of transportation planning studies in support of rezoning, site plan control, and subdivision approvals for private-sector development throughout Ontario in accordance with municipal Transportation Impact Assessment (TIA) Guidelines.
  • Undertaking technical analysis to optimize traffic flow on road corridors.
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals and technical reports including transportation impact assessments, parking studies, feasibility studies, and master planning studies.
  • Performing research and data collection, followed by in-depth analysis using advanced Excel spreadsheet tools.
  • Utilizing VBA to streamline data analysis, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance modeling tools.
  • Working with Synchro, SIDRA and various other transportation modelling software packages.
  • Undertaking Multi-Modal Level of Service Analyses.
  • Reviewing design drawings for urban road corridors, intersections, Site Plans and Plans of Subdivision, from a transportation perspective and the application of design standards (e.g., TAC and OTM) and municipal by-laws/standards.
