Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s growing New York City team is looking for a talented Transportation Intern to join our Mobility Department for Summer 2026! Responsibilities Perform field work either alone or in pairs taking measurements, pictures, visually confirming survey locations and detailing existing traffic control facilities. Perform analysis of traffic, parking, and multimodal transportation data. Create text and spreadsheet documents and manipulate data. Effectively interact with VHB staff to advance projects in a timely manner Engineering calculations Preparing figures, diagrams, and conceptual schematics for transportation systems Skills and Attributes Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical skills; excel required, scripting a plus Self-motivated with attention to detail Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with clients Creative Problem Solving Qualifications Currently pursuing undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related discipline Must have the ability to conduct tasks independently Strong interest in transportation engineering Our best estimate of the hourly salary range for this position located in New York is $19/hr. - $30/hr. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience. VHB does not provide housing for internships. We are VHB!
