LATAM Transportation Manager will work to improve CooperSurgical’s current processes, eliminate redundancies, drive cost reductions, improve material flow (inbound/outbound), productivity, quality, and safety. The position is responsible for LATAM transportation management across every mode of transportation (airfreight, ocean, trucking, small parcel) in terms of people, process, systems, and infrastructure. The LATAM Transportation Manager will drive best practices and a high performing culture that’s aligned to the LATAM Logistics Strategy and the growth of the CooperSurgical in the LATAM region. This role reports to the Global Distribution Operations Director and works cross functionally with Purchasing, Sales, Distribution and Customer Service to ensure the LATAM transportation network supports finish goods and raw material flow between vendors, warehouses, 3PLs, manufacturing sites, and customers in the LATAM region.
- University Degree Business Administration or Related Field
- 7+ Years of Experience in the Logistics/Transportation/Supply Chain
- Project Management Certifications is desired
- Logistics background working with multiple global locations
- Experience traveling and solving logistics challenges outside of the LATAM
- Experience with ERP and TMS systems
- APICS or related certification
- Advanced analytical skills, advanced Excel use
- Global/International travel and experience preferred
- Background utilizing BI reporting for enhanced data analytics

- Design, implement, and maintain the LATAM transportation network to support the accelerated growth of the business while creating visibility, reliability, and competitiveness from a cost to serve perspective
- Manage multiple external logistics partners, e.g., freight forwarders, ocean carriers, consolidators, transload operators, dray carriers, and transportation management service providers in the LATAM region.
- Select and negotiate contracts with international air and ocean freight forwarders, 3PL’s, and small parcel providers to develop strategic vendor relationships in the LATAM region
- Initiate, evaluate, and implement freight cost savings programs across all transportation modes
- Expedite priority orders and escalate issues as needed
- Manage and develop Logistics support & Transportation support personnel by providing strong leadership and guidance, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Own team execution of policies, programs, and objectives to ensure company’s success and superior customer experience in all aspects of warehouse, distribution, and material management
- Develop metrics and analyze transportation/freight data to drive best-in-class service and cost
- Evaluate and implement services, technologies, and solutions that optimize the network processes and performance, freight optimization, TMS, freight payment and audit best practices.
- Drive Logistics/Operational Excellence initiatives to meet business objectives on time and within budget
- Use multiple methods and relationships to stay current on market trends in the LATAM region and support reviews with commercial departments to spot trends, improvements, and optimizations.
- Educate, partner with and coordinate with Supply Chain/Purchasing to strategically reduce inbound freight costs from domestic and international suppliers
- Ensure hazardous material / dangerous goods compliance in both storage and transportation
- Lead large strategic cross functional projects to improve efficiency in the supply chain and transportation in the LATAM region
- Partner with Supply Chain to improve balance of transportation, inventory carrying costs, and develop landed cost transportation data to support new sourcing decisions
- Develop and maintain relationships with CooperSurgical Sales leaders in the LATAM region
- Play a vital role on the Global Logistics team and leadership member of the LATAM region
- Together with the commercial department work on optimizations, analyze and solve customer complaints and drive structural improvements
