Also responsible for managing according to budget. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. 2–3 years of supervisory experience in transportation, logistics, or healthcare operations. Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in managing departmental budgets. Proficiency in transportation scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and route optimization tools. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Major Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision Lead and develop transportation staff, including drivers and schedulers, through clear expectations, coaching, and performance evaluations. Promote a culture of problem-solving, safety, customer service, and accountability. Ensure adequate staffing coverage to meet transportation demands while optimizing labor utilization. Work closely with the SVP of Ancillary Services to align departmental performance with broader organizational goals. Operational Oversight Direct all aspects of transportation operations including daily dispatch, scheduling workflows, and route optimization. Ensure safe, efficient, and HIPAA-compliant patient transport using sound logistical strategies. Manage fleet scheduling and vehicle readiness, including preventive maintenance and repairs. Continuously evaluate and improve workflows to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Problem Solving & Innovation Proactively resolve scheduling issues, patient delays, or vehicle incidents with minimal service disruption. Analyze patterns in challenges or inefficiencies and implement solutions that drive systemic improvement. Develop contingency plans to support peak demand periods or emergency transport needs. Safety, Compliance & Quality Control Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ADA, DOT, and company safety regulations. Ensure all staff complete required certifications and adhere to safety protocols and documentation standards. Conduct regular audits of operations, maintenance logs, and trip data to assess performance and mitigate risk. Customer Service & Communication Serve as the point of contact for escalated concerns from patients, caregivers, or internal departments. Promote a respectful and compassionate service environment that prioritizes the patient experience. Coordinate regularly with clinical, administrative, and facilities teams to ensure seamless service integration. Financial Oversight & Profitability Assurance Monitor transportation budgets, fuel usage, vehicle maintenance costs, and staff productivity. Develop and implement initiatives to reduce waste, increase scheduling efficiency, and enhance route profitability. Track and report key performance metrics and identify financial improvement opportunities in collaboration with the SVP. Additional Assigned Tasks Treats all clients with dignity and respect. Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all company policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines. Follows appropriate safety measures at all times to protect clients and themselves. Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer. Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of clients to supervisor immediately. Protects clients from abuse, and cooperates with all investigations. Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals to supervisor immediately. Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings when applicable. Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
