FT/PT Status: Full Time
Shift: Monday - Friday
Salary: $70k to $90k (DOE – Depending on Experience)
Location: In Office – Sumner, WA (remote work not available)
United Salad of Washington is one of the area’s largest family-owned distributors of fresh produce, grocery, and food service products across the Pacific Northwest region. We distribute produce to national and independent grocers, restaurants, schools, and other institutions from local farmers and growers across the globe.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in supply chain management, logistics or a relevant field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two year’s minimum experience in Transportation Manager or supervisory role. Experience must include management of DOT drivers. (Previous CDL experience is preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and routing proficiency within the Seattle and Northern WA area.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating standard software, such as ELD logs, routing software and WMS.
  • Maintain professional communication with drivers, customers, and other internal departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and reasoning abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of product to all customers within United Salad Co-Washington.
  • Management and coaching of drivers’ performance to meet company objectives and KPIs while enforcing company best practices and safety procedures. Administer disciplinary action as required.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through daily employee engagement and open lines of communication.
  • Ensure timely & accurate reporting and documentation for vehicle accidents, work-related injuries and near misses.
  • Verify load plans for individual trucks comply with weight restrictions and special customer requests are executed.
  • Enforcement of Company policies and procedures as well as DOT regulations.
  • Conducting regular safety audits and reporting maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment to appropriate departments.
  • Conduct regular employees training sessions (e.g., proper use of machines, handling of hazardous material, etc.).
  • Create work schedules for driving staff, conduct safety ride-along, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Maintain organized records of vehicles, schedules, and completed orders.
  • Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
