JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to provide management and leadership for the operations of the Materials Management unit in District 8 Willmar/Marshall. The Purchasing/Inventory Unit provides purchasing and inventory services for all District 8 locations and employees, in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and policies.
This position supervises the operation of materials management and procurement functions for District 8, Marshall/ Willmar. This includes providing supervision and leadership to the inventory staff, shipping and receiving, purchasing, consumable inventory, fixed asset process, development and implementation of purchasing inventory work planning efforts, and disposal of surplus and obsolete and waste materials. In this position the incumbent will office primarily in Willmar or Marshall, plus travel to the other office location on a regular basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify, Transportation Materials Supervisor applicants must meet one of the following:

  • One (1) year of professional supervisory experience of staff in inventory control, accounting, or purchasing.

OR

  • Two (2) years of professional experience as a professional buyer or in accounts receivable.

Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check
