Description Crawford County Council on Aging Position: Transportation Office Clerk SUMMARY This position is a safety-sensitive position requiring the overall coordination of transit services to ensure the timely and safe transportation of all passengers. Performance of these duties must be conducted in compliance with all applicable DOT, federal, state, local, and system regulations and policies, including U.S. DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Answers incoming calls promptly, gathers comprehensive information, and communicates information to the appropriate individual using a telephone, email, or alternate methods to facilitate timely pickup and drop-off of passengers. Dispatches/communicates information to drivers, as needed, using a two-way radio system or alternate methods, as necessary, to facilitate the timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers. Provides schedule/route information and directions to drivers, as necessary. Communicate with the public, including passengers, families, staff, community agencies, and other providers in person or using a telephone, email, or other alternate methods in order to facilitate the timely pickup and drop-off of passengers. Contact emergency personnel, such as police, ambulance, and fire department, when necessary, using the telephone, email, or alternate methods to ensure the safety of all passengers. Communicates with drivers and other appropriate individuals, as appropriate, to facilitate assistance as needed for vehicle maintenance issues. Assist with daily deposits, entering gas slips, lift cycle checks, and correspondence regarding repairs. Call client with their pick-up times Prepare Passport paperwork for drivers, as needed. Prepare intake information for new riders Take requests for transportation, while assisting with scheduling for transportation services. Enter/update information in database. Responsible for monthly standing orders. Other duties as assigned by management Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. Good organizational skills and ability to keep accurate records. Experienced in data entry preferred. Capable of relating well with the public/elderly. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Professional telephone skills and etiquette. Energetic, self-motivated, and flexible. Good physical and mental health. Must work well with others. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and random alcohol and drug testing. Must be free of disqualifying offenses per criminal background check.
