POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking a motivated, passionate Transportation Operations Coordinator to manage our growing business and join our talented team. This candidate must be able to balance company expectations, customer demands and compliance, as well as the responsibility for retention of our Driver associates. They must also maintain DOT regulations and customer expectations. SHIFT: 7 DAYS ON / 7 DAYS OFF 6:00PM TO 6:AM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION Manage operations and Works with management to plan and execute strategies and logistics in alignment with company vision and goals. Book freight aggressively, with a sense of urgency, and in a manner that keeps every driver moving daily and eliminates layovers for more efficient and profitable operations. Plan ahead by working with the planning group continuously throughout the day, booking as much freight as possible in advance. Proactively identify potential service failures and work with planning and dispatch to remedy issues. Communicate with customers regarding status updates as required by customers and provide solutions to problems that arise. Enter data into the TMW system accurately and completely. Understand and actively work with customer-issued scorecards to improve customer service and meet customer expectations. Provide coaching and training to develop the Customer Service staff. Regular and predictable attendance. Ensure all drivers are trained and utilizing their People Net properly. Proactive communication to 3PL on any route delays Monitor customer trailer pools and work with the planning group to make adjustments as needed. Ensure that there are enough trailers in the pool to accommodate present and near future bookings. Understand and monitor customer lane and volume commitments to book accordingly. Obtain and set pickup and delivery appointments when applicable. Communicate any Customer changes or needs to the entire Operations and Sales teams; serve as the conduit internally for our Customers. Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations. Additional duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ year(s) experience in transportation or logistics industry PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Associates or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or Business Administration, or related field Experience managing drivers in a mid-to-large scale trucking operation Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety protocols REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.) Ability to work and communicate effectively with others, promoting a team environment Accepts constructive criticism with professionalism and uses it as a tool for continuous learning and skill enhancement Effectively communicates with personnel at all organizational levels, both internal and external, to foster collaboration and drive process improvements Strong listening skills to fully understand customer concerns, able to respond with thoughtful solutions, and handle criticism constructively and without emotional reactivity Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills PREFERRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)
