Description Dan-O’s is seeking a detail oriented, motivated Transportation Planner to join our Operations Team. This role will support the planning and execution of parcel, LTL (less-than-truckload) and FTL (full truck load) shipments within a fast-paced retail supply chain environment. This role requires someone who is highly organized, eager to learn and comfortable working cross-functionally to ensure timely, cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions. Requirements Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate daily retail shipments, including parcel, LTL, FTL across distribution centers, stores and end customers. Manage LTL freight schedules, consolidations and routing decisions to optimize transit time and cost. Work directly with LTL carriers to schedule pickups, confirm delivery appointments and resolve service issues. Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time delivery, updating internal stakeholders proactively on status or delays. Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, freight tables and delivery confirmations. Utilize a transportation management system (TMS) to plan loads, create shipments and manage carrier communication. Collaborate with warehouse, customer service and procurement teams to align transportation needs with inventory availability and order timelines. Analyze carrier performance and assist in rate audits, exception tracking and KPI reporting for parcel and LTL shipments. Support efforts to reduce freight costs, minimize delays and improve network efficiency through continuous process improvement. Ensure compliance with company transportation policies, DOT regulations and retail partner requirements. Skills Familiarity with common LTL carriers (e.g., XPO, Old Dominion, FedEx Freight, etc.) Exposure to retail or consumer goods logistics. Experience with EDI/API systems or real-time freight visibility tools. Basic knowledge of NMFC classifications and freight classing LTL Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field (or equivalent work/internship experience). Understanding of LTL freight operations, service levels and accessorial charges is a plus Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with TMS platforms or freight portals preferred. High attention to detail and accuracy in shipment tracking and documentation. Team player with proactive, problem-solving mindset.
