The Commercial Vehicle Division (CVD), under the command of Commander Dennis Bosman, is primarily responsible for promoting the safe travel of commercial vehicles on state highways through education and enforcement. This is accomplished by the use of Commercial Vehicle Officers (CVOs), Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers (CVEOs) and CVD Troopers conducting driver and vehicle inspections and enforcing size, weight and load laws.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years clerical/office experience

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate data entered into state and federal databases which establish safety ratings for commercial motor carriers. Assisting carriers with methodology for correcting safety records and removing incorrect data listed on a carrier’s safety profile. Work with federal, state, and local law enforcement officers and other internal and external stakeholders on motor carrier safety issues. Provide accurate and timely commercial vehicle data to the agencies command staff, managers, and officers and local law enforcement so enforcement personnel can be efficiently and effectively deployed to areas where they can make the biggest impact in reducing commercial vehicle collisions.
