ABOUT THE ROLE

At M&D Transportation, LLC safety isn’t just a requirement, it’s how we protect our people, keep our promise to our customers, and deliver excellence every mile of the way. As a Transportation Safety Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind keeping our fleet, drivers, and logistics operating at the highest safety standards.
You’ll combine hands-on inspections, real-time monitoring, and proactive training to make sure our drivers get home safe, and our deliveries arrive on time. You’ll partner closely with other areas of our operations to make safety our first instinct.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop and roll out safety policies that prevent accidents and protect our drivers, passengers, and communities.
  • Manage and optimize safety tracking systems (Samsara), monitoring alerts for accidents, policy violations, and other safety issues in real time.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections, distribution hub audits, and pre/post-trip checks
  • Lead engaging safety training sessions — from monthly refreshers to onboarding new hires and forklift certifications.
  • Counsel drivers on DOT and company policy violations, with a focus on coaching and corrective action.
  • Ensure every driver’s credentials, medical cards, and licenses are valid and up-to-date.
  • Lead post-incident investigations, document findings, and drive corrective action plans through to completion.
  • Oversee our DOT accident register, driver qualification files, and drug/alcohol compliance programs.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports that keep leadership informed and engaged.
