Description Schedule and plan the truck transport of all feed ingredients, agronomy, and grain commodities for the company using company owned trucks as well as owner operators to maximize efficiencies for Cooperative Farmers Elevators. Requirements Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage transportation and logistics schedule Create weekly schedules for Transportation customers Grain sales Monthly contracts – must be delivered To producers/processors Off farm To Ashton for rail Agronomy inputs Dry bulk contracts Liquid deliveries Feed ingredients – mills must never runout Bean meal DDG’s Internal transfers Other ingredients Monitor and improve delivery efficiency Focus on daily/weekly loaded miles per truck Utilize telematics for reporting of utilization Communication Grain origination – contract #’s and inventory Feed procurement – ingredient PO’s and timing Agronomy procurement – PO’s and timing Regional operations managers Works closely with location/driver managers regarding driver availability Works closely with Transport maintenance to schedule work accordingly Maximize CFE asset utilization in transportation of products Work with essential 3rd party (contract) haulers to ensure execution of deliveries Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements Have a good working knowledge of DOT regulations and remain abreast of any changes or updates Ensure all shipments comply with interstate traffic laws and regulations Responding to shipping complaints, lost items, and damages Collaborate with all departments to integrate logistics with company processes Manage 3rd party (contract) hauler insurance requirements Safety and Compliance Uphold all cooperative policies Attend all employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director or location Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned by management Favorable feedback is received from all department managers when assigned to perform or assist with other duties and responsibilities in those departments Attitude consistently mirrors the company image and promotes fellow employee teamwork Present a professional image through words, actions, and personal appearance Basic Qualifications 2-3 years of experience working in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation operations Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications, internally and externally, to all levels of management Highly self-motivated and self-managed, with excellent prioritization and organizational skills Physical Demands Use hands to finger, handle or feel - Regularly Sit - Regularly Talk or hear - Regularly Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl - Rarely Walk - Frequently Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds - Occasionally Reach with hands and arms - Regularly Work at heights - Rarely Stand - Frequently Work in confined spaces - Never Vision Requirements Close vision - Distance vision Color vision - Peripheral vision Depth perception - Ability to adjust focus
