Summary:
The Specialist Transportation will be a member of a team responsible for planning and executing shipments daily across all business platforms. The Specialist will collaborate with various departments and individuals in the organization providing logistical support. Specialist Transportation must have strong initiative; maintain good planning skills and the ability to anticipate problems while developing a plan of action with emphasis of on time delivery.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor Degree preferred – not required

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred 3-5 years’ experience in transportation/distribution/carrier operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Daily load building and routing based on corporate routing guide. Ensures least cost/best mode/best service carrier selections are made
· Identifies and solves daily issues
· Works with analyst to research and respond to transportation related inquiries including rate requests, order tracking/tracing and providing proof of delivery
· Support the import/export of product to include commercial documentation generation
· Recommend and drive process improvements in the routing, shipping and receiving process as it pertains to technology, reporting, etc.
· Collaborate with DC, Customer Service, Receiving, Accounting and Planning on various needs, projects and tasks
· Ability to tackle challenges with creativity
· Ability to work in a self-directed team environment
· Must demonstrate the ability to multitask, work with cross functional teams and have strong customer service skills
· Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Meet company established goals on Safety
· Perform additional duties as assigned
