POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for all freight-related activities within Project Preserve. This role is responsible for maintaining strong carrier and broker relationships, coordinating inbound and outbound transportation, ensuring accurate freight documentation, and supporting end-to-end order fulfillment. The Transportation Specialist acts as an administrator-level user of ProjectPreserve.org and provides subject matter expertise in freight operations, market trends, and cost management.

SKILLS & CAPABILITIES

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience scheduling inbound and outbound freight loads.
  • Proven ability to tender LTL and FTL freight rates from multiple carriers with a track record of success.
  • Experience creating and managing a transportation matrix to track rates and lanes.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new databases and software systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to confidently and professionally engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, sales-focused environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and direct multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a 3PL vendor scorecard to improve customer service and drive accountability.
