POSITION SUMMARY

Veolia Water Tech is seeking a strong candidate for the day-to-day transportation & warehousing
activities for the Chemical & Monitoring Solutions group in the USA.
This incumbent will drive a tractor-trailer combination capacity up to 80,000 GVW, to transport and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form. Required to load and unload multi-compartment tanker, box truck, or flatbed and be responsible for the warehousing activities of shipping, receiving, storage etc. by acting as a primary back-up to the site leader.
The successful candidate will work closely with our logistics team, facility personnel, and other drivers to

This is a full-time position that may require flexible scheduling and occasional overnight routes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience with class A combination equipment
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements
  • Excellent driving and safety record
  • TWIC card

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 95% of the time, as required
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnights, as required
  • Ability and willingness to work a weekend, if required
  • Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid TWIC card
  • Ability and willingness to wear a respirator, as required or needed
  • Ability and willingness to dress professionally and maintain good personal hygiene
  • Ability and willingness to be part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Personnel Surety Program
  • Ability and willingness to keep up to date with online based training

Responsibilities
  • Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Complies with all applicable state and federal DOT regulations, company guidelines and appropriate safety procedures when transporting hazardous materials.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles or property to the appropriate persons.
  • Responsible for scheduling both preventative and unplanned maintenance and repair.
  • Conducts company business in a professional manner while working with the inventory planner, customers, and sales reps.
  • Dresses in a professional manner using the provided uniforms while doing company business.
  • Secures all cargo properly with the provided equipment.
  • Trained and able to operate a fork truck to load and unload at the Veolia plant or Warehouse.
  • Prepare and process all required shipping documentation from SAP including BOL’s, COA’s, MSDS etc. in compliance with DOT regulations & company policies.
  • Serve as a back-up to the site leads and DS’s and execute the receiving, storing, picking, staging and distribution of materials required.
  • Perform physical movement of materials from one area to another using handcarts or fork lifts.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and follow-up with an investigation to determine root cause.
  • May assist in training new hires.
  • Review and verify accuracy of shipping documents, ensure proper labelling and placarding of materials.
  • Understand that you may be away from home for up to 4 nights in each week
