Experts in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine provide care for thousands of children every year at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Children’s Hospital of Michigan - Troy and six ambulatory sites. Job Summary Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, performs transporter duties which may include, but are not limited to escorting and/or transporting patients within the hospital. Escorts patients by stretcher, wheelchair or bed for treatment, testing, admitting, discharge and intra-hospital transfers. Delivers on request specimens, patient charts and various other patient related materials to specified department or other hospital area. The Detroit Medical Center retains the right to create and revise all job descriptions, at its sole discretion. 1. Ability to read, write follow written and oral instructions and perform general clerical functions related to the job. 2. No previous related experience required; one to four weeks on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

Performs transporter duties which include escorting and transporting patients within the hospital. Delivers specimens, patient charts, and other materials to specified departments or areas.
