JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Director, Trauma Program is an autonomously functioning Registered Nurse who, because of education and in-depth clinical experience, possesses knowledge and clinical skills necessary to coordinate all activities for the Trauma Program.
The Director collaborates with other health care team members by serving as a manager, clinical practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher.
Responsible for monitoring and coordinating all trauma program and system elements to insure institutional compliance with the Missouri State Trauma Regulations for Level II Trauma Center Designation.
Involvement begins with monitoring pre-hospital care and extends through reintegration into society.
The Director reports to the CNO and works closely with the Medical Director of Trauma Services.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. (Masters Preferred)
Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications: Current state of Missouri RN license required. Certification in area of specialty preferred.
BLS and ALS certification required and maintained.
TNCC instructor certification within one year of hire date.
Experience: Minimum of three years clinical nursing experience in Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit or other critical care areas required.
Management Experience: Two years previous management/director experience desired.
