Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant for a travel assignment at a long-term care facility in Seward, Alaska. This role supports a geriatric patient population with a focus on chronic care, dementia support, and daily living assistance in a structured LTC environment. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for CNAs experienced in long-term care who are comfortable managing varying patient ratios and providing compassionate, hands-on care in a rural Alaska setting. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13 or 26-week contract (traveler choice) • Day or Night shift available • 4x12-hour shifts • Days: 07:00–19:30 • Nights: 19:00–07:30 • Patient ratios: Days 1:20 | Nights 1:10 • Floating required within facility • No call required COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) • Perform vital signs and report changes in condition • Assist with ambulation, transfers, and repositioning • Provide hygiene care including bathing, oral care, and incontinence care • Support feeding and nutritional needs • Follow infection control and PPE protocols • Utilize basic equipment including glucometers and pulse oximeters UNIT OVERVIEW • Long Term Care facility • Approximately 40 patient census • Adult and geriatric population • Common diagnoses include Alzheimer’s, dementia, TBI, and behavioral health needs • ECS charting system Requirements • Minimum 6 months CNA experience REQUIRED • LONG TERM CARE experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP) • Previous travel experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP) • Active CNA license required (AK pending accepted ONLY if application already submitted) • Must provide proof of AK CNA application if pending • Must hold active CNA license in another state if pending AK • Must provide proof of completed CNA training program if pending AK • BLS certification required • Ability to manage 1:10–20 patient ratios required • Must be willing to float within facility • Must meet 50-mile radius rule • No locals accepted • RTO must be submitted with application • Must be willing to work holidays as required Important Notes: • STRONG enforcement of LTC experience requirement • Must submit all documentation for AK license compliance if pending • Alaska Food Worker Certification required (completed onsite, $10 fee) • Facility provides rental vehicle (driver’s license + insurance required) • Must be 25+ to qualify for rental vehicle • Housing is limited in the area • Modules non-billable (avg 16 hours) • 2 supervisory references required (LTC setting preferred) Join our VIP list to get first access to our best openings: https://stforms.co/heartlinestaffing/travelnurse Not ready to apply?
