Description
We are seeking suitable candidates to fill in the position of Travel Consultant within Air Niugini - Vanimo The position occupies a frontline position that interacts daily with Air Niugini Customer and is responsible for selling of Air Niugini’ s products through reservations and ticketing and maintaining of a high level of customer service towards corporate clients, business houses and intending passengers. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES To assist clients with all aspects of domestic travel bookings. This Includes airfares, car rental, tours and accommodation. Construct and sell corporate, leisure and other travel fares and packages and assist with in/out bound bookings made by client or other Air Niugini offices as and where needed. Create, make changes and action cancellation of travel itineraries for clients and attend to their needs whether on the telephone, through email, through facsimile or face to face. To understand domestic/international fare rules and correctly apply them to customer requirements. Issuing and reissuing of accountable documents (Tickets, MCO’s, and EMD) and collecting sundry fees associated with sales and documenting them in accordance to company procedures and requirements. Reissuing tickets for Travel Agents, General Sales Agents and other Airline partners including own, specializing in both Domestic & International Sector. Investigate and where appropriate process refunds ensuring that all Air Niugini refund procedure and processes are met whilst keeping the customers interest satisfied. Participate in sales presentations at promotions, functions, sales calls and sales meetings as directed by immediate supervisor. Assist and ensure that the sales office cleanliness is maintained in line with Air Niugini’s standard work environment. Ensures the maintenance of adequate records, files and reports as required by Air Niugini, IATA and internal/external auditors. Compilation of debtors’ coupons, purchase orders and other accountable documents and handed to the cashier according to Air Niugini’s ticketing procedures and policies. Ensure the collection of acceptable forms of payment from clients and handed to cashiers in accordance to Air Niugini ticket payment policies and procedures for timely reconciliations and reporting. Perform other duties as instructed by immediate supervisor. We are looking for people who are: Excellent customer service skills Possess strong inter-personal and good communication skills Possess good computing skills Good oral and written communication skills Must be self-motivated and a team player Previous Airline experience or in Hospitality Industry is desirable Must be disciplined in their attitude and approach to work, reliable and honest. Ability to communicate with clients at all levels Good organisation skills and record keeping ability Experience and Qualifications Minimum of Grade 12 certificate with Credit or higher in English, Mathematics and Geography. 1 – 2 years’ experience in similar roles required but not necessary 1 – 2 years in customer service and consumer interaction Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and computer filing Proficient and exceptional skills in written and verbal communication Proper Investigative and reporting skills Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality, IT or Business-Related Courses may be an advantage but not necessary. Must live within Vanimo town.
