QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS/GED and 10+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or maintenance setting is required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least one of the following criteria is required:
  • Expert – Master or Supervisor level Licensed Electrician, Controls Engineer, PLC programming experience with CPU’s and HMI’s.
  • Journeyman, equivalent, or higher in Machine Repair, Electrical or Instrumentation and Controls.
  • 5+ years of Production Maintenance with demonstrated high levels of understanding in at least 3 areas of Maintenance. (Mechanical, Electrical, Fluid Power, General Knowledge, Instrumentation & Controls.)
  • 5+ years of Electro-Mechanical System Maintenance & Troubleshooting Experience. 5+ years experienced in industrial/manufacturing environments repairing Mechanical/electrical components including shafts, bearings, gear boxes, pumps, motors, drives, 3 phase power. Strong background in conveyor systems, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. Preferred Automation and controls troubleshooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical, & electrical aptitude Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (G Suite).
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow all safety and company policies and actively participate in creating a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Perform and record regular preventative (routine) maintenance, startups, and installation of parts per machine manuals and within safety regulations. Includes teaching innovative techniques and methodologies to promote best practices with trainees.
  • Perform and record non-routine (break/fix) maintenance. Inspect, analyze, trouble shoot, repair and maintain all types and brands of customer equipment at an expert level. Includes dismantling machines to gain access for troubleshooting and repair activities. Includes teaching innovative techniques and methodologies to promote best practices with trainees.
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in your field and attending workshops as required. Includes networking with the University and industry resources to promote creative active-learning experiences.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to repair mechanical/electrical components including shafts, bearings, gear boxes, pumps, motors, drives and 3 phase power. Includes preparing timeline for repair, and material estimates and lead times.
  • Build relationships and maintain regular communications with key maintenance leadership to help ensure smooth operational workflow and maximum output are achieved on a day-to-day basis and that program goals are being met.
  • Teach and supervise trainees using on the job training, workshop sessions, field assignments and independent or group projects. Includes developing training materials, documenting trainee progress, providing feedback, assessing and communicating future developmental needs to trainee and supervisory staff.
