Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role supports a busy Med-Surg unit providing care to adult and geriatric patients in a structured acute care hospital setting. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for Med-Surg nurses who are comfortable managing full patient loads, working in a fast-paced environment, and supporting a variety of medical conditions including renal, respiratory, and post-procedural care. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13-week contract • Day shift 3x12s (06:30–19:00) • Patient ratio: 1:6 :contentReference[oaicite:0]index=0 • Unit census: ~32 patients • 36 or 48-hour option available (48 straight time allowed) • Weekend requirement: 6 shifts within 6-week period • Floating required to like units • No call required • 2 positions available COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide care for Med-Surg patients across a variety of diagnoses • Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA • Manage IV therapy, PICC lines, and blood product administration • Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy and HFNC • Perform wound care, drain management, and post-procedure care • Monitor patients and activate rapid response teams as needed • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care • Document patient care in Epic EMR WORK ENVIRONMENT • Acute care hospital setting • Med-Surg unit (approx. 32 beds) • Adult and geriatric patient population • Epic charting system • Scrubs: any color (no logos) Heartline Staffing is a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting.
