Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role supports a busy Med-Surg unit providing care for adult and geriatric patients in a structured acute care hospital environment. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for Med-Surg nurses who are comfortable managing full patient loads, working in fast-paced environments, and delivering comprehensive care across a wide range of medical conditions. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13-week contract • Night shift 4x12s (18:30–07:00) • Patient ratio: 1:6 :contentReference[oaicite:0]index=0 • Unit census: ~32 patients • 36 or 48-hour option available (48 straight time allowed) • Weekend requirement: 6 shifts within 6-week period • Floating required to like units • No call required • 3 positions available COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide care for Med-Surg patients across a variety of diagnoses • Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA • Manage IV therapy, PICC lines, and blood product administration • Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy and HFNC • Perform wound care, drain management, and post-procedure care • Monitor patients and escalate care through rapid response as needed • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care • Document patient care in Epic EMR WORK ENVIRONMENT • Acute care hospital setting • Med-Surg unit (~32 beds) • Adult and geriatric patient population • Epic charting system • Scrubs: any color (no hospital logo) Heartline Staffing is a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting.
