POSITION SUMMARY

Athena Medtech is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certified by ASCP to join our evening shift laboratory team. The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience and thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

  • Certification: MLS or MT (ASCP required)

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize laboratory workflow by matching specimen labels to computer orders, sorting specimens, and confirming accurate delivery.
  • Ensure reliable test outcomes by conducting quality control checks and performing routine maintenance on lab equipment.
  • Operate a range of laboratory instruments, including chemistry analyzers, to produce accurate diagnostic results.
  • Conduct blood bank testing, including blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility matching to support safe transfusions.
  • Detect and quantify substances such as drugs within patient specimens to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
  • Participate in staff training and serve as a technical resource to peers.
  • Promptly report and escalate abnormal patient results to supervisory personnel.
