POSITION SUMMARY

Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Clinical Laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory operations, be proficient in specimen analysis, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent laboratory experience in a clinical setting.
  • Current certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and quality control protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Organize workflow by verifying and labeling specimens, matching computer orders, and ensuring timely delivery and processing.
  • Maintain high-quality standards by performing routine equipment maintenance and running control samples to verify functionality.
  • Serve as a technical resource and participate in the training and onboarding of laboratory staff.
  • Identify and report abnormal findings or critical values to supervisory or clinical personnel as required.
  • Perform toxicology testing to identify and quantify substances in patient samples.
  • Operate chemistry analyzers and other lab instrumentation to provide accurate diagnostic results.
  • Conduct blood bank testing, including blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility testing, to ensure safe transfusions.
