Description Position: Travel Plaza Manager Reports to: Tribal President FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: The Travel Plaza Manager is in charge of employees and the facilities of the Tonkawa Travel Plaza and Native Lights Smoke Shop. Required to plan and promote the daily schedule of employees and the business, interview, hire, and coordinate employees, create and maintain budgets, and coordinate with and report to senior management in the company. Essential Duties: Creates schedules for staff members, and ensure that they are implemented, and are being followed properly. Oversees gas station attendants, to ensure that they are correctly performing their work activities. Ascertains that cashiering services are properly being carried out, keeping customer satisfaction in mind. Manages stocking activities, ensuring that all shelves are neatly and adequately stocked, and that expired products are removed. Creates and maintains effective liaison with vendors and suppliers to ensure that gas and store items are timely delivered. Receives merchandise from vendors and suppliers, and compares each item to provided lists, to ensure that the right amount and type of items have been delivered. Oversees the process of gas filling, ensuring that all safety precautions are being taken, and safety rules are followed. Assists cashiers in handling accounting activities, and manages any discrepancies in a real-time manner. Oversees the maintenance and cleaning of gas pumps, making sure that proper procedures are being followed. Keeps the employees motivated, resolves conflicts and makes hard decisions for your employees. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. Experience as a Gas Station attendant required. Previous management experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Analytical skills to be able to solve problems that may come up during a typical work day. Ability to maintain and balance a budget. Time management is essential to make sure everything gets done. Excellent customer service skills. Physical agility to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs/ladders, work in small spaces, walk, reach and lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Requires occasional heavy physical work; pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds. Work involves almost constant exposure to elements, such as dirt dust, fumes, smoke, flashing lights and loud noises.
