Overview Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) | Kamuela, HI | Start 06/08/2026 | 16 weeks | $2,181–$2,300 per week | 36 guaranteed hours | Rotating shift | Short-term acute care hospital setting The traveler will provide direct patient care in a family birthing unit caring for laboring patients, postpartum mother–baby dyads, and stabilization of neonates until transport. The unit supports low-risk obstetrics with capability to stabilize higher-risk cases for transfer, collaborating with physicians and midwives to ensure safe, evidence-based care. Key Highlights - Weekly pay range: $2,181–$2,300 per week - Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week - Contract duration: 16 weeks - Shift: Rotating - Start date: 06/08/2026 - Setting: Short-term acute care hospital – Labor & Delivery unit Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care to laboring patients and postpartum mother–baby dyads, including monitoring maternal and fetal status. - Manage labor progression, administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, and maintain appropriate fetal monitoring as ordered. - Assist during labor and delivery and support neonatal stabilization until appropriate transport is arranged. - Deliver postpartum care, patient education, and discharge planning for mothers and newborns; document assessments and care in the electronic medical record. - Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the care team; adhere to infection control, patient safety, and Baby-Friendly practices. - Respond to clinical changes and emergent situations, ensuring timely escalation and appropriate patient prioritization.
