Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg Tele in Rochester, New York. Start date 06/22/2026. Duration: Weeks. Shift: 3x12 Days. Weekly pay range: $1,825–$1,899 per week. Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment. This role supports a 14-bed temporary overflow med/surg-tele unit used for overflow and ED holding with adult and geriatric patients. Orientation is 12 hours. The unit features interdisciplinary support and may require float to ED holding patients. First-time travelers are accepted. NY license in hand is required; BLS is required; NIHSS is included in postings. The unit operates with minimal time off requests and adheres to RTO restrictions. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $1,825–$1,899 per week - Shift: 3x12 Days - Start date: 06/22/2026 - Contract duration: Weeks - Orientation: 12 hours - Unit type: Med/Surg Tele overflow with ED holding function - Roster and floating: Float to ED holding patients; every other weekend coverage; minimal RTO Responsibilities - Deliver bedside nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit, including monitoring, assessments, and timely escalation. - Interpret dysrhythmias, manage telemetric monitoring, and respond to Rapid Response or Code Team activations as needed. - Perform phlebotomy and IV placement; establish and maintain peripheral lines; utilize the unit’s PICC team as appropriate. - Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and document findings in the electronic charting system. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Transport, Interpretation services) to coordinate patient care. - Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols; maintain patient safety and infection control standards. - Chart in EPIC; ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses. - Maintain readiness for potential float assignments to ED holding as patient census changes.
