JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care. This role is essential for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering respiratory therapy treatments, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pulmonology.
  • Experience in acute care environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques; advanced certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments and manage complex respiratory conditions.
  • Familiarity with ventilators and other respiratory equipment is essential.
  • Previous experience in hospital settings, including OR experience or clinic experience, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care. Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including medication administration and ventilator management.
  • Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment as necessary.
  • Provide airway management in emergency situations and assist in critical care settings such as ICU and PICU.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to implement effective care strategies for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment options, and home care strategies.
  • Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
