· Pay Rate: Rate may vary due to local or non-local contracted rates: $70-$75/hrcombined Rate of pay. (Pay packages are a combination of taxable hourly rates, tax free allowances for travel, housing, and meal allowances) (Rates are subject to change via client need)

  • Assessing patients: NICU nurses evaluate patients’ conditions, take vital signs, and document symptoms and medical histories
  • Administering treatments: NICU nurses provide treatments to help patients recover and prevent infection, such as administering medications, setting up IVs, and performing diagnostic tests
  • Monitoring patients: NICU nurses monitor patients’ fluid intake and output, and watch for changes in their condition
  • Responding to emergencies: NICU nurses respond to medical emergencies and call doctors when needed
  • Collaborating with the care team: NICU nurses work with doctors, specialists, and other medical professionals to create and implement care plans
  • Maintaining records: NICU nurses maintain detailed patient records and manage reports

PATIENT EDUCATION:

o Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and recovery processes.
o Provide guidance on home care, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
o Infection Control and Safety:
o Adhere to strict infection control protocols.
o Monitor patients for signs of infection, particularly after surgery.
o Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during their hospital stay.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Licensure: Valid state RN license.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) may be required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a medical-surgical unit is often preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
