Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Santa Monica, California. This role supports an acute care oncology unit providing care for patients requiring chemotherapy, infusion therapy, and complex symptom management. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for oncology nurses who are comfortable in an acute care setting and confident managing chemotherapy-related care, infusion therapy, central lines, blood products, and oncologic emergencies. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13-week contract • Day shift 3x12s (07:00–19:00) • 1 position available COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Administer and monitor chemotherapy • Manage continuous infusion and oral chemotherapy workflows • Provide IV therapy and infusion support • Administer blood and blood products • Care for ports and central/implanted lines • Respond to oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression, extravasation injury, and acute tumor lysis syndrome • Implement neutropenic precautions • Support symptom management including altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy • Document care in Epic EMR WORK ENVIRONMENT • Acute care hospital • 266 staffed beds • Beachside location • Epic charting • RN scrub color: Navy Blue Heartline Staffing is a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting.
