MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SOCIAL WORKER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is needed for a full-time, temporary maternity leave coverage position in a school setting located in Kentwood, Michigan. This role offers an opportunity to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic educational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop targeted intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students social and emotional development.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support for students facing urgent challenges.
  • Educate students and staff on social-emotional learning and mental health awareness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and student progress.
  • Facilitate communication between the school, families, and community resources to promote coordinated student care.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Active LMSW licensure in Michigan.
  • Experience in school-based social work or working with pediatric populations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education, including IDEA and 504 Plans.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to manage diverse student needs in a fast-paced school environment.
