Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist for an inpatient rehabilitation assignment in Napa, California. This role supports adult and geriatric patients in a structured inpatient rehab setting, focusing on dysphagia management, neuro rehabilitation, and speech/language recovery. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for SLPs experienced in inpatient rehab environments who are confident managing complex neurological and post-acute cases including stroke, TBI, and degenerative conditions. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13-week contract • Day shift 5x8s • Hours: 09:00–17:00 • Weekend requirement: 1 weekend day per week • Floating required to acute care units as needed • No call required COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform speech, language, and swallowing evaluations • Manage dysphagia including bedside swallow and modified barium swallow studies • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans • Provide cognitive and communication therapy • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and safety • Document care, evaluations, and progress notes • Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehab team WORK ENVIRONMENT • Acute care hospital with inpatient rehab services • Adult and geriatric population • Approximate census: 10 patients • Interdisciplinary team including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services • Epic charting system Requirements • Minimum 2 years SLP experience REQUIRED • Inpatient rehab experience REQUIRED • OUTPATIENT experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP) • Dysphagia experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP) • Active California SLP license REQUIRED (pending accepted) • BLS certification required • Must be comfortable treating adult and geriatric populations • Must be willing to float within hospital • Must meet 50-mile radius rule • Locals accepted at lower rate • RTO limited to 1 request (max 7 days) • Must be willing to work weekends as required Important Notes: • Previous travel experience REQUIRED • First-time travelers NOT accepted • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays • 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within last 3 years • Modules non-billable (avg 16 hours) • Housing may be limited in area Join our VIP list to get first access to our best openings: https://stforms.co/heartlinestaffing/travelnurse Not ready to apply?
