Job Description DCS is hiring an experienced Traveling/ Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform field repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel and gas-powered vehicles and equipment. This position requires 100% travel in a company service truck, supporting operations across TX, LA, and surrounding states. This role is ideal for a highly self-motivated mechanic who can work independently most of the time, manage their own workload, and oversee equipment across approximately four states. Responsibilities Travel full-time to job sites and perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance Prioritize and complete urgent repairs independently Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel and gasoline vehicles and heavy equipment Perform major component and system repairs (engine, electrical, hydraulics, brakes, steering, drivetrain, etc.) Conduct test drives and ensure compliance with safety and emissions standards Respond to emergency breakdowns in the field Assist with fabrication and new equipment builds as needed Maintain service truck tools, inventory, and a clean, safe work environment Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred) 21+ years old A valid driver’s license and 5 years of clean driving record Ability to travel 100% of the time (lodging & per diem provided) Proven mechanical experience (diesel & gas engines) 2+ years’ welding/fabrication experience Experience with mowers, skid steers, tractors, and heavy equipment Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Additional Information Benefit Highlights: Challenging and rewarding work environment Competitive Compensation Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plan 401(K) Generous Paid Time Off Career Development Employee referral program Pay rate: $32-35/hour depending on experience.
